Overview / Context

Following the success of the My Workplace web platform, Coor wanted to extend the experience to mobile, enabling employees to access workplace services on the go.As the lead designer, I adapted and refined the product’s UX and visual language for smaller screens, ensuring feature parity with the web version while keeping the mobile experience fast, focused, and touch-friendly.

Problem & Objectives

The web app successfully centralized workplace interactions, but it wasn’t ideal for quick, on-the-go tasks. Employees moving between offices needed faster access to everyday actions like booking rooms, checking menus, or submitting service requests.

Our goal was to translate the web platform into a mobile companion app that:

  • Focused on the most frequent, time-sensitive tasks.
  • Preserved the brand’s visual and experiential consistency.
  • Leveraged React Native’s cross-platform flexibility to deliver a cohesive user experience across iOS and Android.

Research & Insights

We leveraged insights from previous user interviews and analytics gathered during the web rollout. The most common mobile scenarios involved quick bookings, status tracking, and daily menu lookups. Usability testing validated that users valued immediacy, including minimal typing, clear feedback, and intuitive flows.

These findings shaped a mobile-first approach emphasizing efficiency and reassurance over feature density.

Design Process & Collaboration

Using Figma, I adapted the existing Coor Design System (originating from the web app) for mobile, refining spacing, typography, and component behavior to meet touch and accessibility standards.

  • Home screen: Displays quick actions, live site data, and a personalized greeting.
  • Booking & Request flows: Condensed into a few steps with clear visual confirmations.
  • Visual system: Shared design tokens synchronized with React Native implementation to ensure parity across platforms.

Close collaboration with the React Native development team ensured consistency in interaction design, motion, and platform-specific details while maintaining a unified code and design foundation.

Solution

The My Workplace mobile app became a natural extension of the web platform, providing flexibility for employees to engage with workplace services wherever they are. By leveraging a shared design system and cross-platform framework, we achieved both design and development efficiency while maintaining brand cohesion.

Together, the React-based web app and React Native mobile apps form a connected ecosystem that simplifies the modern workplace experience and strengthens Coor’s digital presence.
